Hello all. Well I guess we couldn’t have hoped for a better result in the LWC vs Chelski game. I almost found myself thinking “Come on Spurs” but heart over-ruled the head and i shut myself up.
Their draw only adds significance to the result tomorrow night. With just one point separating the top four, a win puts us in a strong position as we head towards Christmas. Let’s not forget that we’ve got two tough games after ManUre – Stoke and Chelski. If we can take 7 points from these three I’ll be a very happy man, and Arsenal will be right up there. On our home/away form I’d back us to do win against ManUre and draw one of the others.
But, and this is one enormous but, to do that will be to break United’s somewhat miraculous feat of remaining unbeaten this term. I believe we can do it. I don’t think our defence is as frail as many make it out to be – Hansen, I mean you – and I think our players will be well up for it. They weren’t for the Sp*rs game, but this for them – pity – is bigger.
I don’t think our line-up will change from my predictions in my last post. I have a feeling that Arsène’ll let the skipper recover properly.
Speaking of whom I’m praying that Barça’s new oil money – Qatarcelona! – won’t mean that Cesc is gone in January. I’m pretty resigned to his leaving at the end of the season, but please can we keep him till then? Please?
There’s some stirring stuff on the official site – AW on how Nasri has found his goal-scoring touch and how it’s all to do with ‘the mental sharpness’, and that this season he believes in himself:
But when you get that taste for scoring goals that reinforces your belief and that is what I believe has changed. He knows now that he can score goals in every single game so he doesn’t give up that idea during a game.
That’s encouraging, and Paddy Power has 11/2 on Nasri as first goalscorer. The ever-excellent ‘holic suggests a bold one – three one to the Arsenal at 33/1. I might be tempted by that as I’m feeling an early goal for us will draw them out, and then I fancy us to score two more; but I don’t however think that our defence will keep a clean sheet. (I’ve got it all played out in my head, you see, complete with injuries to half the United team). A draw at the interval followed by an Arsenal win is 9-1 with BlueSquare and that already as a few Arsenally quid on it.
I truly believe we can do this. Come on you goooooners!!!
There’s a small but catastrophic chance I may be kept in at work tomorrow night. In which case I may hand over to a guest blogger. I’d try to break my leg, or slip on some wet flooring to get out of work but a) I need the job, dammit, and b) I’m not sure Watford A/E has Sky and c) I wouldn’t even be able to sue the b*stards anyway, I’d just be fired. So I’ll be on my radio in the gents. Off to recharge the batteries.
