It’s hard to know where to begin. Should this be a rant about a lost opportunity, against a poor refereeing decision, or a celebration about our league position?
Well, after ManUre lost to Liverpool today – Ha! – we could have been just one point behind, had we beaten Sunderland. And if we would have beaten Sunderland, had we not been robbed by a bad decision when Arshavin’s goal was ruled offside.
But poor refereeing decision come and go. Swings and roundabouts, and all that. You win some, you lose some, and other meaningless platitudes. The fact remains that if we’d been better up front, more creative and more clinical, then we wouldn’t have to rely on these kind of arbitrary rulings.
There was another poor decision before that, when Bramble dragged down our little Russina in the area, and the referee – from Mansheikhster by the way – failed to give the award.
Still think these things just come and go? Well my conspiracy theory sirens had started to go off too.
But that doesn’t hide the fact that if Messrs Bendtner and Chamakh had played better we wouldn’t be trying to find fault with the referee.
Still, we’re 3 points behind ManUre with a game in hand. That game in hand? Against Sp*rs. Bring it on!
Now all thoughts turn to Spain, to Catalunia, and to the Camp Nou. We’ve just nicked one of their academy players, Jon Harper Toral, let’s nick a goal and knock out our mortal European enemies. Again I say, bring it on!
